Steelhead Double IPA ~ Mad River Brewing

Appearance: cloudy orange under a solid pithy head. Swirls with no lace but maintains a brilliant glow and pithy collar.

Nose: orangey and zesty – mandarin, mango, and tangerine. Hint of pink grapefruit. Dew dropped green grass. Lemon zest and lemon peel. Oozes freshness.

Palate: yum! Chewy, meaty, and orangey with orange, tangelos, mandarins, and mangos. Mango and kiwi is pervasive – fresh, sweet, chewy. Medium weight and mouthfeel. Gentle lingering bitter skin finish.

Final Thoughts: not overly complex but superbly delicious. For a first foray into brews from Mad River Brewing out of Blue Lake, California.
